Remember of friends you made at summer camp? This year, get the kids to their favorite city park and treat them to fresh air, awesome outdoor activities and the opportunity to life-long memories, by enrolling them in one of the Summer Day Camps or Special Interest Camps offered by the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department.

This year’s theme is Passport to Summer Fun. The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department is a safe and nurturing environment where children have fun and are encouraged to develop new interests while becoming more self-reliant and confident in their own abilities.

Online registration for summer camps begins at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 4 for City of Tampa residents and will continue through April 9 or until slots are full. Non-city residents registration opens 6 p.m. on Monday, April 11 and will continue until full. With online registration you can view, search, sign up and pay for recreational programs and activities around the clock. To take advantage of online registration, you must have a current Rec Card, a parks and recreation account and an email address. A Rec Card may be purchased at any City of Tampa Parks and Recreation community center.

Parks runs summer camp programs in community centers citywide for children ages 5-17. Each week, your child will:
• participate in sports and fitness activities
• create arts & crafts projects
• play team building and recreational games
• learn computers and technology
• and more!

Camp Dates: Monday, June 13 – Friday, August 12, 2011 (No camp July 4)
Cost: $80

A variety of Special Interest Camps are also available. These one-week camps offer more intense training in topics such as sports, art, theater art, eco-exploration cartooning, golf, and tennis.
