TAMPA, FL (September 11, 2014) –Tampa Water Department customers can save water and save money at the same time by taking advantage of one of Florida’s newest tax holidays. From September 19 to September 21, 2014, certain purchases of “WaterSense” products will be sales tax free for the first $1,500 of eligible purchases.

“The Tampa Water Department has been a WaterSense partner since 2007 because managing water use is important to every customer. The WaterSense label means thorough testing to meet current efficiency standards,” said Brad Baird, Tampa Water Department Director. “Water conservation always means dollar savings for our customers, and this newest tax holiday can provide immediate savings on purchases plus long term savings on utility bills.”

WaterSense labeled products are backed by independent, third–party testing and certification, and meet EPA’s specifications for water efficiency, energy efficiency and performance. Tax-free WaterSense products include bathroom sink faucets, faucet accessories, high-efficiency toilets or urinals, showerheads, as well as weather or sensor-based irrigation controllers. “Energy Star” dishwashers and clothes washers are included in the tax holiday, saving families both energy and water.
