Road Closure of E Brorein Street to begin April 29, 2018 for Roadway and Infrastructure Improvements
As part of the phased roadway realignment program planned for southern downtown Tampa, a portion of E Brorein Street will close beginning Sunday, April 29, 2018. E Brorein Street between Channelside Drive and S Nebraska Avenue will permanently close at 12:01 am on April 29, 2018 for roadway realignment. The northernmost, westbound lane on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and Old Water Street will also close on April 29, 2018 at 12:01 am.
Two westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and Old Water Street will shift south and remain open to motorists in both directions. In order to progress westbound traffic during the morning peak hours, the westbound left turn movement from Channelside Drive to Old Water Street will be prohibited between 7 am and 9 am during weekdays (Monday- Friday).
Further, Channelside Drive will transition from an eastbound one-way road to a two-way roadway between S Nebraska Avenue and Old Water Street. S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive to E Brorein Street will become a one-way northbound road.
Motorists traveling westbound on Channelside Drive will take S Nebraska Avenue north to E Brorein Street.
S Caesar Street between Channelside Drive and E Walton Street will remain closed until Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
E Cumberland Avenue between S Jefferson Street and S Meridian Avenue will also remain closed until Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
