What: 18th Annual Tampa Police Memorial 5K/1-Mile Run-Walk
Location: Lykes Gaslight Park, 411 N. Franklin St., Tampa, FL
Date/Time: October 13, 2012 @ 8 a.m.

Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Chief Jane Castor and The Tampa Police Department invite the public to participate in the 18th Annual Tampa Police Memorial 5K/1-Mile Run-Walk. The Memorial Run-Walk starts in Downtown Tampa at Madison St. / Franklin St., heading down Bayshore Blvd. before finishing back in Downtown Tampa at Madison St. / Franklin St. Proceeds from the event benefit the Police Museum, Memorial Scholarship Program, Charity Donations and Tampa Police Memorial Improvements.

• Chief Jane Castor will run with a group of 30 officers. Each of the 31 officers will be running in memory of one of the 31 individual fallen officers. This group of officers will be wearing a memorial armband imprinted with each fallen Tampa Police Officer’s name
• TRT displays American flag while repelling down the police building
• Police Helicopter fly over
• Police equipment will be on display
• Mini Vendor Expo on Franklin St Mall
• Food by Columbia Restaurant and Sweetbay
• Door prizes, give-a-ways, refreshments by Fresh, Pepsi,
• 16 year old local artist Ms. Mary Olive will sing the National Anthem
• Off Tha Chain band in the park
