The Sail at Tampa Convention Center Closed in Preparation for Hurricane Irma

The Sail at Tampa Convention Center has closed due to inclement weather related to Hurricane Irma. This announcement comes after the National Hurricane Center confirmed that the storm is now a Category 5 hurricane, and weather radars place Florida within the storm’s projected path.

The Sail will remain closed until after Hurricane Irma has passed the Tampa Bay area, which is currently projected to conclude Monday or Tuesday. Patrons may stay informed of The Sail’s opening schedule and other activities on Facebook.

As for Hurricane Irma’s impact on Tampa, experts urge residents to start making a plan now and to stay up to date on the storm's progress. Just yesterday, Governor Rick Scott declared a state of emergency for all Florida counties in response to the storm’s intensification.
