Solid Waste Spring Day Holiday Collection Schedule

The residential collection schedule for City of Tampa customers with regularly scheduled collection days on Friday will be affected by the Spring Day Holiday.

There will be no residential garbage, yard-waste recycling, or blue-box recycling collection on Friday, April 22, 2011. Residential garbage collection services for customers affected by the holiday will resume on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Residential recycling and yard-waste collection will resume on the next regularly scheduled recycling collection day.

The Spring Day collection schedule for the Department of Solid Waste and Environmental Program Management’s remaining services is as follows:
  • McKay Bay Transfer Station/Scalehouse and the Manhattan Brush Site will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011. Normal hours will resume on Saturday, April 23, 2011.
  • Commercial Services will not be affected by the holiday.
  • There will be no Solid Waste Enhanced Environment Program (SWEEP) collections on Friday, April 22, 2011. If your neighborhood is scheduled for a SWEEP collection, place your items out prior to Friday, April 22, 2011. SWEEP is a once-a-year opportunity to dispose of furniture, appliances and bulk items at no additional charge. Please log on to the website at to find out when your neighborhood will be serviced. To avoid a possible citation, do not place items out more than eight days before your scheduled SWEEP.
