Store Clerk Shot During Robbery Dies

The victim in yesterday's convenience store shooting has died. Marilyn Tejada died at Tampa General Hospital with family at her side just after 3:00p.m. on 10/13/11.

Detectives have determined the motive was robbery. At this time, we do not have a suspect description to release. We are appealing to the public for help with this case.  Details will be released as they become available.

VICTIM: Marilyn Rivera Tejada, DOB: 3/11/58, A/F, 863 Colonial Drive, Tampa

The store owner found the victim on the floor of the business with a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was transported to a Tampa hospital and remains in critical condition tonight. Detectives are working to develop a suspect description and determine the motive of the shooting.
