Suspect Arrested in Mi Pueblo Market Robbery

SUSPECT: Sommers, Brian, 05/31/1991, H/M, 2412 Stuart Street, Tampa

DETAILS: Working on a tip, detectives went to interview the suspect’s friend. When officers arrived at the friend’s home, the suspect was there and fled out the back door. Detectives caught the suspect and he was interviewed. Items from the store were in the home and the suspect confessed to the robbery. Detectives obtained a search warrant and a gun was found in the home. The suspect was charged with robbery with a firearm and five counts of armed kidnapping for locking the employees and patrons in the store's cooler.

102 South 22nd Street Mi Pueblo Meat Market 0130hrs

Tampa Police Officers responded to 102 South 22nd Street reference an armed robbery at approximately 1:30 am on 10/31/2013. It was reported that 2 armed and masked suspects entered into the market and forced the occupants, that included both patrons and employees, into a walk in cooler and took property. The suspects then fled the market in what was believed to be a southbound direction. There were no injuries reported in this incident. Detectives and officers are attempting to identify and follow up any and all leads.
