Suspect Charged in Shooting

Tampa Police detectives charged a suspect in the shots fired on Fribley today.

SUSPECT: Dontez Coleman, 2/17/1991, B/M, 12712 English Hills Ct. Tampa
CHARGES: Aggravated assault with a firearm x2

Through the investigation, it was determined that the suspect charged is the one who fired the gun.

At 11a.m., Tampa Police Officers responded to a shots fired call at 706 West Fribley Street. Based on the preliminary investigation, a dispute took place between a resident at 704 West Fribley and a group of construction workers who were pouring concrete at the home next door. The resident confronted the workers and complained that their truck was too loud. The two groups exchanged words and the resident got in his car and left. He returned back to the scene with several individuals and more words were exchanged. At some point, one of the individuals associated with the home at 704 West Fribley fired a gun and the group fled. Everyone involved in the incident is being interviewed at this time. More details will be released once detectives conclude their on scene investigation.
