Suspect Fires Gun at Park Ranger

At approximately 7:20 pm officers were dispatched to the area of Tarpon and Elliot reference a shots fired call. Upon their arrival the following was learned....

Park Ranger Davidson was writing a parking citation on a vehicle when an unknown b/m suddenly appeared and began cursing him. The b/m then entered into the vehicle and drove to the opposite side of the parking lot and stopped. He exited the vehicle and apparently discharged a firearm (possibly 4 shots) in the direction of the Park Ranger. Park Ranger was not hit or injured; however at least 1 round has been identified as striking a house located at 7513 S. Morton, which was occupied at the time. Their were no injuries reported to the occupants.

Detectives were notified and are on-scene attempting to identify and follow-up on leads. At this time there is no additional information to release on the suspect or vehicle. As information is able to be released, updates to this alert will be made.
