DETAILS: One of Mayor Bob Buckhorn’s focus areas is reducing the number of wanted violent felons in Tampa. Through this operation, the Tampa Police Department has identified the 459 most dangerous and prolific criminals and are taking the steps necessary to get them off the streets. The seven law enforcement agencies are combining resources to identify, investigate and locate the violent fugitives. This five-day operation is the first step to reducing the number of outstanding warrants in the City of Tampa. The next stage is assigning the remaining warrants to TPD’s police districts to continue tracking down wanted felons.
