Tampa’s Outdoor Ice Skating Rink is Now Open

Just in time for the cooler weather, outdoor ice skating has returned to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. The Tampa Bay Lightning has partnered with the Friends of Tampa Recreation, Inc. and the City of Tampa to present Tampa’s Downtown on Ice.

The grand opening was hosted by Mayor Bob Buckhorn on Friday, Nov. 21 at 4 p.m. The rink will be open daily through January 4, 2015.

Rink Hours of operation
Monday –Thursday: 4-9 p.m.
Friday: 4-10 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
Sunday: Noon- 9 p.m.

Holiday Hours
Thanksgiving – Closed
Christmas Eve: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Christmas: 4 p.m.-10 .pm.
During Hillsborough County School Fall and Winter breaks, the hours of operation are
10 a.m.-10p.m. Monday-Saturday and Sunday Noon-10p.m.

The 4500 square foot rink is its fourth season and has become a popular holiday tradition in downtown Tampa. Tickets are $10 and includes skate rental. New for this year, ice skating lessons are available on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Classes are $25/30 minutes. The rink is also available for private parties and children’s birthday parties.
