Tampa Bay Comic Convention – Friday, August 2, 2019 to Sunday, August 4, 2019

Traffic is expected to be heavier than normal from Friday through Sunday in Downtown Tampa due to the Tampa Comic Convention at the Tampa Convention Center.

If you work and live in downtown or drive through downtown, drivers and pedestrians alike are advised to allow for extra travel time and to travel through the area with caution.

 

Heavier traffic is expected on the following streets around the Convention Center.

  • S Franklin Street
  • Bayshore Boulevard
  • W Platt Street
  • Channelside Drive
  • W Brorein Street

 

Parking:

The Convention Center Garage and Pam Iorio Garage fill quickly, so consider parking at the Fort Brooke Garage.  Fort Brooke Garage is located within walking distance and the Tampa Streetcar offers FREE transportation to/from the garage to the convention center.   • Channelside Drive (Right Turn Lane) between Florida Avenue and Morgan Street

  • Southbound traffic movement on S Franklin Street from Channelside Drive to Water Street
  • Northbound through traffic movement on S Franklin Street from Knights Run Avenue to Channelside Drive

Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.

 

  • Tampa Street extension from E Brorein Street to S Franklin Street

Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 

  • Southbound traffic movement on S Franklin Street from Channelside Drive to Water Street
  • Northbound through traffic movement on S Franklin Street from Knights Run Avenue to Channelside Drive
