Tampa Bay Estuary Program announces a call for student entrants for the “Guardians of the Bay” Video Public Service Announcement Contest. Students who attend any high school (grades 9-12) in Hillsborough, Pinellas or Manatee counties are eligible to enter. Home schooled students also are eligible. This contest is one of numerous public outreach activities this year marking the 20th anniversary of the Tampa Bay Estuary Program.

The entry should be a 2-minute Public Service Announcement (“PSA”) video showing Tampa Bay as a living ecosystem. Topic examples may feature the health of the bay, nature and wildlife, fish and other marine animals, sporting and recreation opportunities, and volunteer restoration projects. Entries should raise awareness about the importance of a healthy bay.

One winner will be selected by a panel of judges, and awarded a cash prize of $250. Five additional entries will be featured on TBEP’s website and You Tube channel.

Entry rules and forms may be downloaded at www.tbep.org by clicking on the Student Video Contest icon. Submissions must be mailed or delivered to Tampa Bay Estuary Program by midnight on Friday, April 1, 2011 (no online submissions). All completed entries should be mailed or delivered to:
