Tampa Parks & Rec Launches New #HappyAtHomeTPA Video Series Bringing Fun Activities To Families While At Home

This information is 3 years 11 months old and may no longer be accurate.
As a part of the City’s #HappyAtHomeTPA campaign, Tampa Parks and Recreation is launching a series of online family-friendly videos, activities, and resources to keep Tampa residents occupied and entertained as they practice social distancing.

“We know folks are getting tired of being at home and frankly, a little antsy, which is why we’re thinking outside of the box to bring some fun right to their living rooms,” says Mayor Jane Castor. “Anything we can do to keep kids entertained and offer families ways to enjoy quality time while staying safely at home is a win win in our books. Even though our parks are closed, our staff is constantly thinking of ways we can serve our community during this difficult time.”

Families can choose from a number of fun guided activities, like storytelling with the Creative Arts Theatre, clay making, painting, knitting, and drawing. Additional third-party resources like the Florida Aquarium Sea-Span, NASA Video and Image Library, Google Earth, and other virtual tours and experiences will allow everyone to explore the outside world from within the comfort of their own homes.

Everyone is encouraged to share their experiences by tagging Tampa Parks & Recreation and the City of Tampa on social media.

Tampa’s Parks and Recreation will continue to provide updated content to serve and engage the community during the Safer at Home order.
