Tampa Police Detectives Searching for Bank Robbery Suspect

DATE/TIME: May 16, 2014 at 2:10 p.m.
LOCATION: Pilot Bank, 3415 Bay to Bay Boulevard, Tampa
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: W/M wearing a black shirt and plaid pants, armed with a utility knife. He covered his face with a dust mask and sunglasses. The suspect has a noticeable tattoo of a “cross” on the back of his left hand.
Tampa Police detectives are asking the public’s help in identifying an armed bank robbery suspect. Shortly after 2 p.m. on May 16, the suspect entered the Pilot Bank on Bay to Bay Boulevard wearing a dust mask and sunglasses. He pulled out a utility knife and told the teller that he would hurt him if he did not give him cash. The victim, who was in fear for his life, turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The suspect took the cash and fled on foot across Bay to Bay Boulevard.
No one was harmed during the incident.
