Tampa Police Detectives Urge Witnesses in Homicide Case to Come Forward

LOCATION: 2900 Block of East 28th Avenue, Tampa
VICTIM: Carlton “Cooda” Reed, DOB: 5/3/1962, 1917 North Delaware Avenue
Tampa Police homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the death of 52 year-old Carlton Reed. On March 23, Officers responded to the 2900 block of 28th Avenue to investigate an aggravated battery. When the officers arrived on scene, they located the victim lying on his side in the street with severe injuries to his upper body. Tampa Fire Rescue transported the victim to Tampa General Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
During the investigation, detectives determined that the victim was involved in a physical altercation with an unknown number of suspects. Detectives are currently speaking with witnesses and following up on leads, however they are still requesting the public’s help to solve this murder case.
Detectives do believe that several individuals witnessed the incident and they urge them to come forward with any details they may have about Reed’s death.
