Tampa Police Homicide Detectives Looking for Victim’s Live-In Boyfriend and Missing Toyota Camry

LOCATION:             2108 West LaSalle Street, Tampa

VICTIM:                   Denise Cogmon, DOB: 10/22/1954, B/F, 2108 West LaSalle Street           

MISSING VEHICLE:                      Gold 1997 Toyota Corolla, Florida Tag BXYA96


Tampa Police detectives are actively investigating a homicide that took place at approximately 4:26 a.m. in the 2100 block of West LaSalle Street.  Denise Cogmon’s family found her deceased inside of a locked room at her West Tampa home shortly after they reported her missing to police. 

Based on the preliminary information at the scene, the victim’s gold 1996 Toyota Camry was missing from her home and her live-in boyfriend, James Ware, has not been seen since her body was discovered.  Detectives are still working to determine if the car was loaned or stolen at the time of the homicide.  They would like to speak with Ware and are asking for the public's help in locating him.
