Tampa Police Investigating Altercation that Led to Fatal Stabbing

DATE/TIME:            January 12, 2018 at approximately 10:40 p.m.

LOCATION:             North 22nd Street and East Crenshaw Street, Tampa

INVOLVED DECEASED:             Samaryon T. Attwell, DOB: 6/21/1982

INVOLVED:             Asherah Mills, DOB: 12/21/1995


Tampa Police officers responded to a call regarding an injured individual at the intersection of North 22nd Street and East Crenshaw Street on January 12.  When officers arrived at the scene they discovered that two individuals appeared to be involved in an altercation.  They immediately began CPR on a Samaryon Attwell who was suffering from stab wounds in his upper body.  Tampa Fire Rescue responded to provide medical care, however Attwell was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of his injuries.   The second involved individual, Asherah Mills, was injured during the altercation with Attwell.   She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Based on the preliminary investigation, this appears to be an isolated incident involving two individuals who were known to each other.  Detectives are reviewing this case with the State Attorney’s Office.
