Tampa Police Investigating Armed Robbery at Grocery Store

DATE/TIME:            February 25, 2015 at 4:49 p.m.                      

LOCATION:             El Faro Supermarket, 7214 North Rome Avenue, Tampa

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:           W/M, early 30's, 5'09" 170-185, light complexion and muscular build. Last seen wearing: black pants, gray shirt with "Captain Morgan" on front, black shoes and a white or beige Gilligan style hat with a small design on the front. The suspect was armed with a gun and was seen riding a green mountain bike with white forks (possibly female bike).               


Tampa Police detectives are searching for an armed suspect who robbed the El Faro Supermarket on February 25th.  The suspect parked his green mountain bike in front of the store and walked inside carrying a book bag.  At approximately 4:49 p.m., he approached the clerk at the front counter.  The suspect pulled out a gun from his waistband and demanded money from the register.  The clerk complied with the suspect’s request. The suspect filled his book bag with cash and fled the scene southbound on his bicycle.

Investigators are actively working to identify the suspect who was caught on the store’s surveillance system.
