TAMPA POLICE INVESTIGATING FOUR ARMED ROBBERIES
Tampa Police believe the four armed robberies, including three on Monday night and one early Tuesday morning, are related. In each case the suspect had a bandana over his face, a dark hoodie, dark athletic shorts, and a black firearm.
ROBBERY 1: PDQ restaurant at 2207 S Dale Mabry Highway at 9:35 p.m. The suspect walked up to the drive-thru window, pointed a gun at the driver of a car in the drive-thru lane and told the driver to leave. The suspect pointed the gun at the cashiers at the drive-thru window and demanded money. The suspect then reached through the window and unsuccessfully attempted to open the cash register. He fled on foot.
ROBBERY 2: Circle K at 3001 S Manhattan Ave at 9:49 p.m. The suspect entered the store, pointed a firearm at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk placed the cash into a plastic bag provided by the suspect. The suspect fled on foot.
ROBBERY 3: 7-Eleven at 2301 W Linebaugh Ave at 11:50 p.m. The suspect walked up to the counter, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk complied, putting the money in a plastic bag provided by the suspect. The suspect walked out the front door and fled in an eastbound direction.
ROBBERY 4: Circle K at 4115 S Westshore Boulevard at 1:59 a.m. The suspect entered the store, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money from two cash registers. The clerk complied, placing money in a bag. The suspect then left the store on foot, headed northbound.
Late Monday, in an effort to prevent additional robberies, officers were alerted to keep an eye on convenience stores and fast-food establishments. Detectives are collecting physical evidence and video in an effort to identify the suspect who we believe is responsible for all four robberies. TPD is not releasing any video at this time.
