Tampa Police Officers Arrest Gas Station Robbery Suspect

ARREST LOCATION: Corner of Juneau Street and Nebraska Avenue
VICTIM: Chevron, 2735 West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Tampa
SUSPECT: Terrance E. Brooks, B/M, DOB: 10/9/1979, 6924 Donald Avenue, Tampa
CHARGE: Strong Armed Robbery and Possession of Cocaine
Tampa Police officers have charged Terrance Brooks with robbing a Chevron gas station on June 12, 2011. A news viewer recognized Brooks on the surveillance video police released to the media and phoned in a tip. Detectives were able to positively identify Brooks and place a warrant out for his arrest based on the information the viewer provided to them. On June 17th, Rapid Offender Control (ROC) officers spotted the suspect driving his girlfriend's Saturn near her home on Juneau Street and Nebraska Avenue. The ROC officers coordinated a traffic stop with patrol units and made contact with Brooks. He was arrested without incident and charged with Strong Arm Robbery and Possession of Cocaine.

Police Searching for Suspect in Gas Station Robbery
WHEN: 6/12/11, 3:25 p.m.
WHERE: 2735 West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Tampa
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: B/M, medium-dark skin tone, 5'8" - 5'11", about 300 lbs, full beard with a mustache and prominent ears, last seen wearing a black cut off t-shirt, black slippers, jean shorts and a skull cap
SUSPECT VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: dark colored (possibly dark blue) Hyundai or Kia car
DETAILS: The suspect entered the Chevron Gas Station and filled out a lottery ticket. After handing it to the clerk, he loitered in the store for several minutes. The suspect then went behind the counter and used physical force to obtain the cash in the register. The subject fled from the store and entered a dark colored compact car, possibly a Hyundai or Kia, with an undisclosed amount of cash.
