Tampa Police Officers Arrest Homicide Suspect

Anthony Jackson, 11/3/1954 called 911 on 12/10 at 5:11 p.m. He told the 911 dispatcher that he wanted an officer sent to his location at 7th Avenue East and Morgan Street. He had something he wanted to get off his chest. When officers arrived, he told them he committed two murders in Lakeland. Officers continued to interview the suspect to obtain specifics on the murders to validate his story. Once the officers had specifics, they called the Lakeland Police Department and a cold case detective recognized details from the case. The suspect had a crack pipe on him at the time so he was detained while detectives from Lakeland drove to Tampa. Lakeland detectives interviewed the suspect. The suspect was booked into Orient Road Jail on drug charges. Any questions regarding the interview or the homicide investigations should be directed to the Lakeland Police Department.
