Tampa Police Officers Investigating Armed Robbery at Family Dollar

LOCATION: Family Dollar, 11616 North Nebraska Avenue, Tampa

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: B/M, 5'5", dark complexion, protruding cheek bones, sunken face, LSW black baseball cap w/white letters, white tank top, light color shorts, sandals and carrying a red bag


Tampa Police officers are searching for an armed suspect who robbed a Family Dollar store on July 4, 2013. The suspect entered the store and walked up to the register to purchase a lollipop. He slipped the cashier a note while she was placing his money into the register. The note stated that he had a gun in his bag and he would shoot her if she did not give him the money inside the cash drawer. The victim handed him all of the money and the suspect fled out the front door heading east on foot.

Police officers conducted a thorough search for the unidentified suspect. The suspect frequently visits the store and officers believe he may still be in the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-873-TIPS(8477) or through its free “Text-A-Tip” service. Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
