Tampa Police Participate in Prescription Drug Take Back Event

WHAT: Community members will be able to drop off any prescription medications they no longer use 
and can remain anonymous with no questions asked. 

WHEN: October 28, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

TPD SPONSORED SITES: Winn-Dixie, 2525 North Dale Mabry Highway 
Walgreens, 2115 East Hillsborough Avenue 


The Tampa Police Department will join the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance to collect unused or expired prescription medications from citizens to prevent potentially dangerous drugs from getting into the wrong hands. 

Operation Medicine Cabinet will take place on Saturday, October 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Tampa Police Department is sponsoring two collection sites in the city of Tampa: Winn-Dixie (2525 North Dale Mabry Highway) and Walgreens (2115 East Hillsborough Avenue). 

Tampa Police officers collected approximately 350 pounds of prescription medication during the last take back event on April 29, 2017.
