Tampa Police Searching for Clues in Teen’s Death

VICTIM:                  Jamylin Turner, B/M, 12/8/1998


Tampa Police Homicide detectives are urging witnesses to a fatal shooting to come forward with information.  Police officers responded to Taylor Park to investigate a ‘shots fired’ call.  When officers arrived they found Jamylin Turner lying in the street near 615 West Virginia Avenue with a gunshot wound to the upper body.  Based on preliminary information at the scene, it was determined that the victim was with a group of friends near the basketball courts when an unidentified suspect(s) drove by and fired multiple rounds at the group. 

Fire Rescue transported the victim to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.  

Detectives are actively working to determine the identity of the suspect(s) and obtain a description of the vehicle used in the fatal shooting.
