Suspect:  Anthony Nelson Cruzado, B/M, DOB:  10/01/1986, At Large

The suspect who robbed the Florida Central Credit Union is now behind bars thanks to diligent Tampa Police officers.   Based on an anonymous tip from Crime Stoppers, Officer Jeremy Fung was able to positively identify Anthony Cruzado as the suspect who fled from the bank with a bag filled with stolen cash on July 26.  Officer Fung issued a warrant for Cruzado, charging him with armed robbery.  On August 1,  Officer Keith Barnum was working an off duty assignment at Club Viva when he recognized Cruzado from Officer Fung’s alert.  Cruzado was taken into custody at Club Viva without incident and transported to the District 1 substation where he was interviewed by Corporal Daniel Berry and Detective John Barnett.

During the interview officers received additional information from Cruzado that he stole a car from the Mercedes Dealership on July 22.  The car was recovered from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on July 28.

Cruzado is currently being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail for one count of armed robbery.  Additional charges for grand theft and a second robbery are still pending.
