Tampa Solid Waste Department Revises Christmas Commercial Collection Schedule and Offers Residents Christmas Tree Collection at No Additional Charge
In observance of Christmas Day, City of Tampa offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2019.
- Residential Customers will not be affected by this closure, as there are no Wednesday collections.
- Commercial Customers will not receive collection service on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. The revised collection schedule is as follows:
- Commercial Customers who normally receive service on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 will receive service on Thursday, December 26, 2019. Collection service will continue to run one day behind through Saturday, December 28, 2019. Regular Solid Waste collection service schedules will resume Monday, December 30, 2019.
- McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House located at 114 S. 34th St., will be closed on Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25, 2019) and will reopen with regularly scheduled hours on Thursday, December 26, 2019.
City residents will receive curbside Christmas Tree Collection Service at no additional charge. Christmas tree collection begins Monday, December 30, 2019 and will run through Friday January 10, 2020. To take advantage of this service, residents must remove all decorations and lights, cut tree limbs to four (4) feet lengths, bundle, and place curbside on their regularly scheduled yard waste collection day. Any discarded lights and/or decorations should be placed in the garbage cart (not recycling cart).
