Tampa Solid Waste Department Revises New Year’s Commercial Collection Schedule and Offers Residents Christmas Tree Collection at No Additional Charge
In observance of New Year’s Day, City of Tampa offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.
- Residential Customers will not be affected by this closure, as there are no Wednesday collections.
- Commercial Customers will not receive collection service on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. The revised collection schedule is as follows:
- Commercial Customers who normally receive service on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 will receive service on Thursday, January 2, 2020. Collection service will continue to run one day behind through Saturday, January 4, 2020. Regular Solid Waste collection service schedules will resume Monday, January 6, 2020.
- McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House located at 114 S. 34th St., will be closed on New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1, 2020) and will reopen with regularly scheduled hours on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
City residents will receive curbside Christmas Tree Collection Service at no additional charge. Christmas tree collection begins Monday, December 30, 2019 and will run through Friday January 10, 2020. To take advantage of this service, residents must remove all decorations and lights, cut tree limbs to four (4) feet lengths, bundle, and place curbside on their regularly scheduled yard waste collection day. Any discarded lights and/or decorations should be placed in the garbage cart (not recycling cart).
