Temporary Intersection Closure of Howard Avenue and Cypress Street began March 13, 2017 for Water Main Construction

(This is a revision to the Traffic Advisory sent out on March 9, 2017 & March 3, 2017)

Tampa, FL (March 13, 2017) – A portion of Howard Avenue and Cypress Street closed Monday, March 13, 2017, as part of a Capital Improvement Project.  The intersection of Howard Avenue and Cypress Street closed at 9 am on March 13, 2017.  The City contractor is installing a 12” and 6” water main across Howard Avenue on Cypress Street as part of the on-going water main project.  Cypress Street will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, weather permitting. 

Howard Avenue will remain closed to traffic between Cass Street and Cypress Street from Monday, March 13, 2017 to  Friday, March 31, 2017, as part of the next phase of the on-going water main project.

The City recommends using alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
