Temporary Intersection Closure on S. Howard Avenue to begin March 08, 2017 for Stormwater Improvement

A portion of Howard Avenue between Morrison Avenue to Bayshore Boulevard will close on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, as part of a 5 Phase Capital Improvement Project.  The intersection of Howard Avenue and Marjory Avenue will close at 9 am on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, as part of the Phase 1 construction work.  The City contractor will place a crane at the intersection of Howard Avenue and Marjory Avenue to install a large Stormwater structure with pump.  It is anticipated that Howard Avenue between Morrison Avenue to Bayshore Boulevard will be reopen to traffic by 4 pm, on March 8, 2017, weather permitting.

The Stormwater Improvement construction work will encompass complete intersection closures and certain lane closures, which will be completed in five (5) phases over two (2) months, to allow local access.

Phase 1 Howard Avenue & Marjory Avenue Intersection Closure

Phase 2 Howard Avenue (Watrous Avenue to Marjory Avenue) Southbound Lane Closure 

Phase 3 Watrous Avenue, west of Howard Avenue Road Closure

Phase 4 Howard Avenue (Marjory Avenue to Watrous Avenue) Northbound Lane Closure

Phase 5 Howard Avenue (Watrous Avenue to Marjory Avenue) Alternating Lane Closures

The Stormwater Improvement project is scheduled to be completed by mid-April 2017.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
