Temporary Lane Closure on Bayshore Boulevard to begin August 7, 2018 for Utility Construction


(This is a revision to a Traffic Advisory issued on July 24, 2018)


A portion of Bayshore Boulevard between W Bay to Bay Boulevard and W El Prado Boulevard will close beginning on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.  A private contractor will be installing a water service connection in Bayshore Boulevard between W Julia Street and W El Prado Boulevard.

One (1) southbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between W Mason Street and W El Prado Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on August 7, 2018.  One (1) southbound lane of traffic will be maintained on Bayshore Boulevard at all times, with delays.

During a portion of the work, W Julia Street between Bayshore Boulevard and S Carter Street will be closed to through traffic.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

It is anticipated that all lanes on Bayshore Boulevard will be open by 3 pm on Friday, August 17, 2018, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.


Southbound motorists can use S MacDill Avenue between W Bay to Bay Boulevard and W El Prado Boulevard in lieu of Bayshore Boulevard.
