Temporary Lane Closure on Bayshore Boulevard to begin on December 2, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of Bayshore Boulevard between W Gandy Boulevard and W El Prado Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on Monday, December 2, 2019 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will close the outside northbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between W Bay Court Avenue and W Waverly Avenue for installation of conduits, street lights and poles as part of the Mayor’s Initiative/Bright Lights, Safe Nights program.

One (1) northbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between W Bay Court Avenue and W Waverly Avenue will close beginning at 9 am on December 2, 2019.

One (1) northbound lane of traffic will be maintained on Bayshore Boulevard at all times, with delays.

There will also be a shift of the eastbound lane on W Euclid Avenue between S Waverly Court and Bayshore Boulevard. Eastbound and westbound traffic on W Euclid Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

It is anticipated that all lanes on Bayshore Boulevard will be open to traffic by 3 pm on Friday, December 13, 2019, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

 

Northbound motorists can use S MacDill Avenue between W Gandy Boulevard and W El Prado Boulevard in lieu of Bayshore Boulevard.
