Temporary Lane Closure on Channelside Drive to begin September 21, 2018 for Utility Construction

Tampa, FL (September 20, 2018) – A portion of Channelside Drive between S Jefferson Street and Old Water Street will close daily beginning on Friday, September 21, 2018 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will install underground chiller pipes on Channelside Drive between S Nebraska Avenue and Old Water Street.  One (1) eastbound lane on Channelside Drive between S Jefferson Street and Old Water Street will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm intermittently beginning on September 21, 2018.

One (1) lane of eastbound traffic will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays. 

Sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction during the initial and final portions of the work.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via a pedestrian bridge or via signage to other sidewalks in the area.

All lanes on Channelside Drive will be open by 3 pm on Friday, October 19, 2018, weather permitting. 

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
