Temporary Lane Closure on E Broadway Avenue to begin September 16, 2020 for Environmental Spill Cleanup

A portion of E Broadway Avenue between N 50th Street and E Columbus Drive/ E Broadway Avenue will close daily beginning at 9 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, for environmental cleanup.  A private contractor will be removing contaminated soil due to a diesel spill on E Broadway Avenue between N 55th Street and N 57th Street. The eastbound lane on E Broadway Avenue between N 54th Street and N 57th Street will close beginning at 9 am on September 16, 2020. 

 

Eastbound and westbound traffic on E Broadway Avenue between N 54th Street and N 57th Street will be intermittently maintained on the north side of E Broadway Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.

 

The sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

 

E Broadway Avenue between N 54th Street and N 57th Street will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2020, weather permitting.    

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

 

Eastbound and westbound motorists can use E Columbus Drive between N 50th Street and E Columbus Drive/ E Broadway Avenue, in lieu of E Broadway Avenue.
