Temporary Lane Closure on Howard Avenue to begin May 22, 2017 for Pavement Investigation Work

 

Tampa, FL (May 17, 2017) – A portion of Howard Avenue between Bristol Avenue and Swann Avenue will close at 10 pm on Monday, May 22, 2017 for pavement investigation work.  Madrid Engineering Group will be closing the northbound lane of Howard Avenue to collect 5 coring samples of the pavement by the center of the road for a future road improvement design project. The southbound lane on Howard Avenue will remain open throughout the construction. Howard Avenue will reopen by 6 am on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, weather permitting. 

Northbound and southbound traffic on Howard Avenue between Bristol Avenue and Swann Avenue will be maintained with flagmen at all times during construction with delays.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative north-south routes to avoid congestion. Northbound and southbound motorists traveling between Swann Avenue and Morrison Avenue can use Macdill Avenue in lieu of Howard Avenue.
