Temporary Lane Closure of Jackson Street and Morgan Street to begin August 4, 2017 for Utility Construction

A portion of Jackson Street between Marion Street and Pierce Street and a portion of Morgan Street between Washington Street and Jackson Street will close on Friday, August 4, 2017, for utility construction.  As part of the FDOT Jackson Street Road Improvement project, a Frontier contractor will be relocating existing facilities on the south side of Jackson Street between Morgan Street and Pierce Street.  The contractor will be working in the existing manhole at the southeast corner of Jackson Street and Morgan Street. 

One (1) eastbound lane on Jackson Street between Morgan Street and Pierce Street and one (1) northbound lane on Morgan Street between Washington Street and Jackson Street will close at 7 pm beginning on August 4, 2017. 

The bike lane on Jackson Street between Morgan Street and Pierce Street will also close during construction. 

It is anticipated that all lanes on Jackson Street and on Morgan Street will be open to traffic by 5 am on Monday, August 7, 2017.

The sidewalk on the north side of Jackson Street between Morgan Street and Pierce Street and the sidewalk on the west side of Morgan Street between Washington Street and Jackson Street will be open for pedestrians, at all times during construction.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
