Temporary Lane Closure of Jackson Street to begin July 5, 2017 for Utility Construction

A portion of Jackson Street between Pierce Street and Jefferson Street will close at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, as part of Phase 1 of the TECO Washington Street substation upgrade project.   The bike lane on Jackson Street between Pierce Street and Jefferson Street will close nightly, Monday through Friday, from 7 pm to 5 am beginning on July 5, 2017.  It is anticipated that this phase of construction work will be completed by 5 am on Thursday, July 13, 2017, weather permitting.

Phase 2 and Phase 3 will follow the completion of the Phase 1 work with weeknight lane closures.   

It is anticipated that these three phases of the TECO upgrade project will be completed and all lanes will be open to traffic by 5 am on Saturday, July 29, 2017.

The City recommends using alternative northbound routes to avoid traffic congestion.
