Temporary Lane Closure on MacDill Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard to begin August 22, 2017 for Sewer Maintenance

(This is a revision to the Traffic Advisory sent out on August 9, 2017)

Tampa, FL (August 18, 2017) – A portion of MacDill Avenue between Euclid Avenue and Gandy Boulevard will close beginning on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  A City contractor will be cleaning sewer lines in Wallcraft Avenue beginning at the intersection of MacDill Avenue and continuing easterly to Bayshore Boulevard.

The southbound lane on MacDill Avenue between Knights Avenue and Wallcraft Avenue will close nightly from 10 pm to 5 am beginning on August 22, 2017.  Northbound and southbound traffic will be maintained on the east side of MacDill Avenue at all times, with delays.

The eastbound lane on Wallcraft Avenue at the MacDill Avenue intersection will also close nightly from 10 pm to 5 am beginning on August 22, 2017.  Eastbound and westbound traffic will be maintained on the north side of Wallcraft Avenue at the MacDill Avenue intersection at all times, with delays.

One (1) lane of traffic will be maintained at all times during the work on Wallcraft Avenue between MacDill Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard.

At the easterly end of Wallcraft Avenue at the Bayshore Boulevard intersection, the Bayshore Boulevard median crossover will close during the final phase of the work.

It is anticipated that all lanes on MacDill Avenue, Wallcraft Avenue, and Bayshore Boulevard will be open by 5 am on Thursday, August 31, 2017, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

 

Southbound and northbound motorists can use Himes Avenue between Euclid Avenue and Gandy Boulevard in lieu of MacDill Avenue.
