Temporary Lane Closure on N Habana Avenue to begin on December 30, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of N Habana Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will close on Monday, December 30, 2019 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing underground conduits on the west side of N Habana Avenue between W Wilder Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.  One (1) southbound lane on N Habana Avenue between W Wilder Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will close daily between 9 am and 4 pm beginning on December 30, 2019. 

One (1) southbound lane on N Habana Avenue between W Wilder Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be maintained at all times, with delays.  The southbound right turn movement from N Habana Avenue to W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be allowed from the westernmost southbound through lane. 

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed. Pedestrians will be detoured via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction.

All lanes on N Habana Avenue between W Wilder Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2020, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorist use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. Southbound motorists can use N Armenia Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in lieu of N Habana Avenue.
