Temporary Lane Closure on N Habana Avenue to begin February 13, 2019 for Utility Construction

(This is a revision to a Traffic Advisory issued on February 5, 2019)

 

A portion of N Habana Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will close on Thursday, February 28, 2019 for utility construction.  A private contractor will be installing water tap and fire line on the west side of N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Drive and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for St. Joseph’s Hospital.  The southbound right turn lane on N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Drive and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will close daily between 9 am and 4 pm beginning on February 28, 2019. 

The two (2) southbound through lanes on N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Drive and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be maintained at all times, with delays.  The southbound right turn movement will be allowed from the westernmost southbound through lane. 

All turning movements into and out of St. Joseph’s Hospital from N Habana Avenue will be maintained during construction.

The sidewalk on the west side of N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Drive and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction.

All lanes on N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Drive and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, March 1, 2019, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorist use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. Southbound motorists can use N Armenia Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in lieu of N Habana Avenue.
