Temporary Lane Closure N Himes Avenue began on January 20, 2020 for Utility Construction

A portion of N Himes Avenue between W Cypress Street and W Spruce Street closed daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, January 20, 2020 for utility construction.  A utility contractor is installing an electric pole and utility service on the west side N Himes Avenue between W Grace Street and W Nassau Street.  One (1) northbound lane on N Himes Avenue between W Cypress Street and W Arch Street closed beginning on January 20, 2020.

One (1) northbound lane of traffic on N Himes Avenue between W Cypress Street and W Arch Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

The sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

All lanes on N Himes Avenue will be open by 4 pm on Friday, January 31, 2020, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorist use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. Northbound motorists and trucks can use N Dale Mabry Highway between W Cypress Street and W Spruce Street in lieu of N Himes Avenue.
