Temporary Lane Closure of N Orange Avenue to begin October 2, 2017 for Utility and Road Construction

A portion of N Jefferson Street / N Orange Avenue between I-275 southbound Jefferson Street / Ashley Street split and E Cass Street and a portion of E Scott Street between N Jefferson Street and N Orange Avenue will close beginning on Monday, October 2, 2017.  Private contractors will be installing a water tap, pedestrian facilities, two (2) driveways and replacing sidewalk for a new restaurant located at 801 E Scott Street. 

One (1) southbound lane of N Jefferson Street / N Orange Avenue between I-275 Jefferson Street off-ramp and E Laurel Street will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm on weekdays. 

One (1) northbound lane of N Orange Avenue between E Laurel Street and E Scott Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays. 

One (1) lane on E Scott Street between N Jefferson Street and N Orange Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction. 

It is anticipated that all lanes on N Jefferson Street, N Orange Avenue and E Scott Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, December 1, 2017, weather permitting. 

The sidewalks on N Orange Avenue and E Scott Street will be closed around the construction site.  Pedestrians will be detoured via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
