Temporary Lane Closure on N Tampa Street to begin October 5, 2017 for Sidewalk Construction

A portion of N Tampa Street between E Jackson Street and E Whiting Street will close beginning Thursday, October 5, 2017 for sidewalk construction.  Sidewalk construction at the Hilton hotel will be completed in two (2) phases.

One (1) southbound lane on N Tampa Street between E Jackson Street and E Whiting Street will close at 9 am on October 5, 2017 as part of the Phase 1 sidewalk construction. The three (3) southbound through lanes on N Tampa Street south of E Jackson Street intersection will be shifted to the west  to accommodate the construction area. Phase 1 is expected to be completed by 4 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017, weather permitting.

Pedestrian access will be available on the west side of N Tampa Street and the north side of E Jackson Street. Valet service for the Hilton hotel will be available from the E Jackson Street hotel entrance during this phase.

Phase 2 of sidewalk construction is expected to commence immediately after the N Tampa Street sidewalk construction is completed. The sidewalk on the south side of E Jackson Street between N Tampa Street and N Franklin Street will be closed.  Pedestrian access will be available on the north side of E Jackson Street. Valet service for the Hilton hotel will be relocated to the N Tampa Street hotel entrance. 

Both phases of sidewalk construction at the Hilton hotel are expected to be completed by 4 pm on Saturday, December 23, 2017, weather permitting.

The City recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. Trucks can use N Pierce Street from I275 to avoid congestion.
