Temporary Lane Closure on Plant Avenue to begin August 21, 2017 for Utility Construction

Tampa, FL (August 18, 2017) – A portion of Plant Avenue between Platt Street to Kennedy Boulevard will close on Monday, August 21, 2017, for utility construction.  One (1) lane on Plant Avenue between Cardy Street to Kennedy Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on August 21, 2017.  TECO will continue installing new electrical lines between existing manholes in Plant Avenue as part of the ongoing TECO substation upgrade project. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage on the east side of Plant Avenue at all times during construction.

All lanes on Plant Avenue will be open by 3 pm on Friday, August 25, 2017, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternative northbound routes to avoid traffic congestion.
