Temporary Lane Closure of S Florida Avenue will begin December 26, 2017 for Special Event

A portion of S Florida Avenue between E Brorein Street and E Jackson Street will close beginning on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, for a Special Event at Ft. Brooke Parking Garage.  Three (3) of the four (4) northbound lanes on S Florida Avenue between E Brorein Street to E Washington Street will closed at 9 am on December 26, 2017, to stage a crane at Ft. Brooke parking garage .  A private contractor will be loading materials to the top floor of the parking garage.  One northbound lane will be open at all times during construction. 

All lanes on S Florida Avenue are scheduled to be open to traffic by 3 pm on December 26, 2017, weather permitting.

Temporary lanes closures on S Florida Avenue between E Brorein Street and E Jackson Street will occur again on Thursday, January 4, 2017.  Three (3) of the four (4) northbound lanes on S Florida Avenue between E Brorein Street to E Washington Street will be closed  from 9 am to 3 pm on January 4, 2017 to remove the materials from the top floor of the garage.

The sidewalk on the west side of S Florida Avenue between E Whiting Street and E Jackson Street will be closed on December 26, 2017 and January 4, 2018.  Pedestrian access will be available on the east side of S Florida Avenue at all times.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
