Temporary Lane Closure S Harbour Island Boulevard that began April 15, 2019 for Utility Construction to be Extended

Tampa, FL (July 3, 2019) – A portion of S Harbour Island Boulevard between Knights Run Avenue and Water Street (formerly Old Water Street) that closed on April 15, 2019 will be extended. A City of Tampa contractor will be installing a sanitary force main by-pass on the east side of the Harbour Island Bridge.  The daily/intermittent lane closures on S Harbour Island Boulevard between Knights Run Avenue and Old Water Street have been extended to Friday, July 26, 2019.

 

Southbound traffic between Water Street and Knights Run Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

 

The sidewalk on the east side of S Harbour Island Boulevard between Knights Run Avenue and Water Street will remain closed through Friday, July 26, 2019.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

 

It is anticipated that all lanes on S Harbour Island Boulevard will reopen to traffic by 3 pm on Friday, July 26, 2019, weather permitting. 

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
