Temporary Lane Closure on S Howard Avenue to begin August 3, 2020 for Utility Construction

A portion of S Howard Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, August 3, 2020 for utility construction. A private utility contractor will be installing communication conduit on the north side of W De Leon Street between S Howard Avenue and S Habana Avenue. The northbound lane on S Howard Avenue between W De Leon Street and W Horatio Street will close at 9 am on August 3, 2020.

 

Northbound and southbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on the west side of S Howard Avenue between W De Leon Street and W Horatio Street at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via signage to other sidewalks in the area.

 

All lanes on S Howard Avenue between W De Leon Street and W Horatio Street will be open by 4 pm on Monday, October 5, 2020, weather permitting.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

 

Northbound motorists can use S MacDill Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Street, in lieu S Howard Avenue.

Southbound motorists can use S Armenia Avenue between W Azeele Street and W Swann Avenue, in lieu of S Howard Avenue.
