Temporary Lane Closure S Howard Avenue to begin January 28, 2020 for Utility Construction

A portion of S Howard Avenue between Bayshore Boulevard and W Platt Street will close daily beginning on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing aerial and underground communication cables on the east side of S Howard Avenue between W Palm Drive and W Platt Street.  

The northbound lane of S Howard Avenue between W Palm Drive and W Platt Street will close at 9 am on January 28, 2020.

Northbound and southbound traffic will be intermittently maintained during construction on the west side of S Howard Avenue between W Palm Drive and W Platt Street, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other available sidewalks at all times during construction.

All lanes on S Howard Avenue between W Palm Drive and W Platt Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2020, weather permitting. 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.  Northbound and southbound motorists can use S MacDill Avenue between Bayshore Boulevard and W Platt Street in lieu of S Howard Avenue.
