Temporary Lane Closure on S Lois Avenue began July 29, 2019 for Utility Work
(This is a revision to a Traffic Advisory issed on July 23, 2019)
A portion of S Lois Avenue between W Swann Avenue and Henderson Boulevard that closed on Monday, July 29, 2019 for utility work has been extended. A utility contractor will be installing a gas main on the west side of S Lois Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W McKay Avenue and on the east side of S Lois Avenue between W Morrison Avenue and W Mullen Avenue.
One (1) lane of traffic on S Lois Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Morrison Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on July 29, 2019. One (1) lane of traffic will be maintained intermittently at all times during construction, with delays.
Sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrians will be detoured via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction.
It is anticipated that all lanes on S Lois Avenue will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Saturday, September 14, 2019, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
Northbound and southbound motorists can use S Church Avenue between W Swann Avenue and Henderson Boulevard, in lieu of S Lois Avenue.
